Install Alert for Enhanced Email Activity Reports – Change Dashboard Colors
In rare cases, an install of the Match My Email Reports Package for Enhanced Email may fail due to a missing permission for the System Admin to Change Dashboard Colors. While almost all new Salesforce organizations grant the Change Dashboard Colors to a System Administrator, some older instances may not have this permission assigned. If you see the following message, it is necessary to create a permission set with this permission and assign it to the User installing the package. Please follow the steps below.
Navigate to Salesforce Setup and search for Permission Sets. Click the New button to create a New Permission set.
Enter a label for the new Permission Set such as “Change Dashboard Colors”. The API name for this Permission Set will autofill. We also suggest entering a description such as “Permission needed for Match My Email Report Package for Enhanced Email”. Decide who will use this Permission Set based on the guidance Salesforce offers for the choices. You can leave the License option as -None- and assign it to an individual User at a later step. If you choose to assign it now, at a minimum for successful installation, the Permission Set should be assigned to the System Administrator installing package. Click Save.
After Saving, scroll down to choose System Permissions.
Click Edit at the top and then scroll to find Change Dashboard Colors. Check the box. Scroll up to click Save and confirm this again in pop up box by clicking Save.
If you didn’t already select Users or Profiles for this permission in the earlier step, click Manage Assignments, then Add Assignment on next screen and then choose yourself as the User/System Administrator to add the permission. This will allow you to successfully install the package.
Click Add Assignment and choose the User you need. Save changes. Return to steps for installing the Report package for Enhanced Email.
