Emailed Alert for IMAP for User with Google 2-step Verification

Some Google Users may set up 2-step authentication with their Gmail accounts. Those Users may receive an email message alerting them to an error with their IMAP import with the following wording.

Some Google Users may set up 2-step authentication with their Gmail accounts. Those Users may receive an email message alerting them to an error with their IMAP import with the following wording.

In this instance, Users need to make use of the Google Authentication option provided by Match My Email and set up their import accordingly. To do so:

  • Login to Match My Email
  • Go to Settings > Google Authentication
  • Click Grant button
  • Upon bounding to Google, Click Grant Access to appropriate Google account login
  • Upon return to MME screen, click Save

  • Go to Import
  • Click name of existing import
  • For ‘Import From’ field, choose “Google Account” from drop down menu.
  • Click Refresh Folders
  • Choose Import scheme “Selected folders” from drop down menu
  • From available folders menu, choose Inbox and [Gmail]Sent Mail and add to Selected folders window.
  • Click Save
