4.6. Control Panel> Company > General > Quotas
Aside from activating User imports, this is the other feature that, when changed, can affect company billing. To explain this feature, it is first important to be clear about MME daily import quotas.
When each User is activated to use MME, they get a daily import quota of up to 200 MB per day they can import into the MME account. All emails from selected folders and their attachments, whether they ultimately are a match in Salesforce or not, count towards quota since they arrive in the MME Activity Dashboard. If a User exceeds their daily import quota, importing pauses for the remainder of the day. It will resume automatically at the start of the next day, picking up where it left off. As long as messages remain in selected folders, the system will not miss any emails. Administrators can request to be emailed a quota alert when a User exceeds quota. Administrators can also see if Users are exceeding quota by checking the Control Panel Dashboard alert area.
The feature here allows an Admin to add a unit of shared quota to your account. Each unit of shared quota means you have an extra 200 MB of space that will be allocated as a unit to the first User that exceeds quota on a given day. They benefit from being able to import more data into their account until the end of the day. The shared unit reverts back to a neutral state and is available the next day to the first User that exceeds their daily import quota. This may be the same User or a different User.
The slider here allows an Admin to add 1 or more units of shared quota. If you use the slide to add 2 units, then two additional units of 200 MB would be available. Timing is important. When a User exceeds quota, they receive the additional unit. If that same user exceeds quota again, which would be 400 MB, then the second unit of shared quota would also be delegated to them for the rest of the day. This could happen prior to a different user exceeding their initial 200 MB. Whichever User exceeds first, gets the additional quota.
