Stop Use of Match My Email

If you no longer want to use Match My Email, the Cloud Admin can delete the company’s Match My Email account.  In addition to our steps below, per our Master Subscription Agreement we require two (2) calendar months’ notice of cancellation.  Click here to email our Sales Team.

Please note:

  • If you were seeing matched emails in Past Activity/Activity History, that data will remain.
  • If you were seeing matched emails in an Email Messages section on your page layout, you were using MultiMatch.  Email data has been logged in a custom object called Email Messages.  You can keep this data in place by leaving the Match My Email package installed in your Salesforce organization.  Please note that uninstalling Match My Email removes the managed package from your Salesforce organization and removes all associated data, i.e. all emails logged in our custom object Email Messages.  Thus all matched email data by Match My Email will be deleted.

TO DELETE MATCH MY EMAIL CLOUD ACCOUNT

  • A Match My Email Cloud Admin should login to Match My Email account.
  • Click the Settings Cog and choose Control Panel at bottom
  • At left, click on Company
  • In options to right, choose Close Account
  • Confirm desire to Close Account.

TO DELETE MATCH MY EMAIL CLOUD ACCOUNT (Prior to June 2019)

  • The Match My Email Cloud Admin should login to Match My Email account.
  • Navigate to Settings > Company
  • Choose Delete Account
  • In following window, click Yes to confirm this deletion.
  • This halts all function of the MME account for all Users.

TO UNINSTALL MATCH MY EMAIL FROM SALESFORCE:

  • A Salesforce System Administrator should go to Setup
  • On left sidebar, in Quick Find type ‘installed’ and click on option for Installed Packages
  • Scroll in list to find Match My Email and at left click Uninstall
  • Confirm you want to uninstall this application

If you uninstall our package but do not delete your account as described above, our system will continue to import and match email, functioning as our Standard version and putting email into Activity History.  If you no longer want to use the Match My Email app, you need to delete the company’s Match My Email account as described above.

*IF YOU GET AN ALERT during steps to uninstall that an error was encountered due to components remaining on page layouts, you will need to remove them from the various object’s page layouts prior to successful uninstall.

TO REMOVE COMPONENT IN SALESFORCE LIGHTNING:

  • Go into Salesforce Setup by clicking the Cog and Setup
  • On left sidebar, under Platform Tools expand Object and Fields and click on Object Manager
  • Click on the label of the objects for which you added Email Messages to the Lightning Record Pages. For example, Click Account
  • On left, click Lightning Record Pages
  • Click on the name of the Lightning Record Page being used and on next screen click Edit
  • Find the Email Messages component on the page layout (usually next to Past Activities), hover the mouse over it and in handles that appear, top right click the Trash icon to remove.
  • Click Save at top left to save this change.

Repeat these steps to remove the component from other objects pages if necessary.

TO REMOVE MME-PROVIDED SEND EMAIL BUTTON for Salesforce Mobile and Lightning:

If you converted to the Match My Email Send Email button for Mobile and Lightning, you will also need to remove it.

  • As above, go into Salesforce Setup by clicking the Cog and Setup
  • On left sidebar, under Platform Tools expand Object and Fields and click on Object Manager
  • Click on the label of the objects for which you added the Send Email button.  For example, click Contact
  • On left, click Page Layouts
  • Click edit to the left of the page layout being used.  If there is more than one, you will need to repeat these steps for each page layout.
  • At top left, under Fields in Bold, scroll and click on Salesforce Mobile and Lightning Actions
  • Approximately the second section from top is for these enabled Salesforce Lightning and Mobile Actions.  Hover the mouse in this section and find the Send Email button normally placed first in list.
  • Click and drag the button up to the top.  Then look in the top for the Salesforce -provided Send Email buttons.  Hovering the mouse over the button, you do not want to use the one with MME in front, as this is the Match My Email button. Find the others and place as desired into the Salesforce Lightning and Mobile Actions section.
  • Click Save at top left to save this change.

TO REMOVE COMPONENT IN SALESFORCE CLASSIC:

  • On Page Layout, scroll to find Email Messages section.
  • In area to right of text Email Messages, hover mouse to the right and you should see a circle with – symbol.  Click this to remove the section, which will also remove the component in the section.
