Searching using Salesforce Platform
Email is searchable in the top of your Salesforce platform or on the left navigation bar under advanced search. The location of the search box is dependent on the version of Salesforce.
You can search for a “word” or “string” and Salesforce will pull up all emails that have the terms in them and place in the “Email Messages” object at bottom of page.
To enable the search box on top of your Salesforce Platform follow the steps below:
- In Salesforce, go to “Setup”
- In the left side menu, expand the “Customize” option
- Expand “Chatter” option
- Click “Settings”
- In Chatter Settings, you will want to click the “Edit” button on top of screen
- Check the box for “Turn on Chatter and Global Search features.”
- Click “Save”
Searching using Salesforce 1
When logged in Salesforce1 you click the top left corner the 3 lines. Then enter in the search term and it will display “Email Messages” in a list that is relative by 3 messages. If you click the show more it will display them all.
