Why is MultiMatch Important?

Salesforce users need to be absolutely sure that every customer email is captured in every relevant Salesforce record automatically. MultiMatch enables them to 100% trust the email data in Salesforce. ‘Perfect’ email data in Salesforce increases adoption and usage because users can work much more efficiently relying on the business value of the email information in Salesforce. With MultiMatch, a Salesforce deployment transforms into a shared ‘system of record’ for customer-facing emails.

Problem Definition

Most email integration tools upload an email into a single Salesforce record like a Contact and then the Contact record links or rolls up the email to an Account record following a Parent-Child related link. This type of record-to-record linking of email data using Parent-Child links is inflexible. For record types like Leads, that do not support Parent-Child links, roll-ups or roll-downs to related records are not possible.

Technical Solution

Link emails directly to each and every relevant record in Salesforce using a different data structure comprised of an email data object and Related Object links.  Think of this data architecture as a “hub” and “spoke” design.  The email is the “hub” and the Salesforce records are the “spokes”.

Formally, we call this technology ‘Multiple Email Attribute and SFDC Object Matching’ or MultiMatch. It creates a repository of email data in Salesforce that is comprehensive and can be used with confidence in reports, dashboards and list views that track user and customer activity.

MultiMatch is the most flexible technical architecture for syncing emails to Salesforce and enables Match My Email to offer a wide range of custom matching options. Custom syncing support is included in the base price of the app so it is not an extra cost. In addition to multiple object matching, MultiMatch enables:

  • Syncing emails to multiple email identities in a single record, e.g., Contact or Lead.
  • Syncing emails to any custom record(s).
  • Syncing emails by a custom field(s) in a standard record.
  • Syncing emails by different data attributes like domain name, words or numbers in the Subject Line or tags in the email body.
  • Adding status filters to the email syncing algorithm like only match to Open Opportunities.
