Salesforce Lightning users can send email using Outlook, Gmail or Apple Mail from inside a Lightning Record by making a simple configuration change.

The following steps explain how those that use Office 365 can set this up to relay emails through their Office 365 domain. In this way, the emails will then be received without ‘noreply’ language and will appear to come as if they were sent from an email client.
The Salesforce email module offers the ability to edit the subject line and/or body of an email stored in Activity. This edit feature is not enabled by default in Lightning. It has to be activated.

Reconfiguring Salesforce Lightning Page Layouts to Increase User Acceptance and Adoption – 3-Column Page Layout
A 3-column Salesforce Lightning page layout has Details on the left, Activities in the middle and Related Lists on the right. This page layout minimizes white space and allocates more space for Activities which are the most important information in the record.
The default setting for tabs or NAVIGATION ITEMS in Lightning includes a number of tabs or NAVIGATION ITEMS that our users don’t use. We have custom tabs in Classic or from installed packages that users would like to see and use in Lightning.
